Cream and Oak Kitchen
A kitchen designed and visualised for a client in Poland. The room is small, so the plan is a compact U: sink and hob along the main wall, a tall column on the right with an eye-level oven next to the fridge, and a small island by the window.
The client asked for the island to be a plain worktop rather than a breakfast bar, so it simply ends with the cabinet: no stools in the walkway, just extra prep space and drawers that face the sink. In the upper corner, where a blind cabinet would waste space, an open shelf with a rounded front holds plates and bowls. Oak backs and LED strips that follow the curve under each shelf make it the one open, lit moment in an otherwise closed run. An earlier version also had open shelves by the window; the client kept only this one.
Everything else stays quiet: handleless cream fronts with recessed grips, wall cabinets that run to the ceiling, and a knotty oak worktop matched to the client’s sample (EGGER Halifax Oak), which continues up the splashback with the grain turned vertical. The black sink, tap and hob and the dark fridge add contrast. Each view is shown in daylight and in the evening, when the under-cabinet LEDs wash the oak.
