gornicki.me Portfolio Website
This website: a portfolio of 100 projects, a journal and an about page, moved off ArtStation to its own domain in October 2026. It was rebuilt as a static site from the ArtStation export, and the old ArtStation addresses keep working: projects keep their ids and the old blog links lead to the journal.
The design leans on oversized Archivo Black type, acid-yellow accents and small monospaced labels on warm paper. The home page opens on a hand-picked selection in an editorial mosaic, with category filters and search. Project pages lead with one image at full width, then a two-column flow that keeps every artwork at its own shape, with a title card set in among the images; galleries of phone screens switch to an even grid, and every image opens in a full-screen viewer.
It is built to be fast without changing the look. Every page is written out as finished HTML, images are served as WebP in several widths so each screen downloads only what it needs, and the original fonts were cut down to the characters in use (2 MB to 154 KB). Files carry a content hash, so they can be cached for a year and an edit still shows up straight away. The site runs in a small container on a home server behind Cloudflare, with security headers and a publish script that checks every page after each release.
