Goblin the shopkeeper
A shopkeeper character created for one of my personal game projects: an RPG in which he runs the shop. He stands in a heap of gold coins, each stamped with a hammer, holding one up to the camera.
The shapes are chunky and soft, close to a painted toy figure. He has oversized ears with a nick in one of them, a big nose that warms to orange at the tip, freckles, bulging yellow eyes and uneven teeth. He is dressed for work: a cream shirt, torn denim dungarees with a pale patch on the bib, a leather belt with a brass buckle, two cloth pouches, and loose orange gloves and boots.
There are two images. The full figure stands against a plain violet backdrop, which leaves the gold and his green skin as the brightest colours in the frame. The close-up of his face is set in front of a blurred farm, with a red barn, green hills and a white fence, at a shallow depth of field. He was made for these renders and for the game’s UI, in 3ds Max and ZBrush, and rendered in Arnold.
